Shay's birthday/Nana visit

Shay was so excited for his 4th birthday and felt so special that Nana came to visit! There's a place that throws kids' birthday parties right by our apartment, and we invited a bunch of kids from Shay's school. It was a Spiderman/carnival (?) theme. Everyone had a blast! 

We also did some fun stuff with Nana, including our first ferry ride of the season to Governor's Island for a festival.

Lacrosse & sushi: a visit with Grandpa Rob

Grandpa Rob drove up for a youth lacrosse tournament & we tagged along. It was Shay's first exposure to lacrosse, and he was ready to jump right in. Even though he's still too young, we had fun exploring more of Brooklyn Bridge park, which seems to continue to get better and better as it gets more developed!

We have missed a lot of birthdays since we've been in New York, and the kids do miss celebrating. So we were excited to go to a couple really fun birthday
parties recently.

Easter fun

Although I was wary of the mess, I decided to continue my mom's tradition of coloring eggs for Easter. The kids really liked it. Mila hogged the bowl of red dye. Shay's creations included "a princess", "the king of the eggs", and one that "looks like Gangham style"!

Mila also enjoyed her stroller Easter present from Nana!
