Holidays in NYC

Since we got back to New York, we've been trying to absorb some of the New York holiday spirit.

Grand Central Station was decked out for the holidays, complete with a special train exhibit from the New York Transit Museum:

Of course, we had to see some of the Macy's window displays:

There were also holiday decorations near Madison Square Park, Sony Museum, and
the Empire State Building:

We also got to attend a few holiday parties:

Bowery Babes (NY mom's group party) had Santa and arts & crafts:
Shay loved Santa; Mila, not so much

Fun with friends at Waterside Plaza (our apartment complex) holiday party:

Another Waterside party - this one was targeted at the kids:

We had some festivities at home too:

And some pics of the kids in their winter gear:

Going, going, back, back...

With the help of Jermaine's brother in the Bronx, we got through the remainder of the hurricane evacution.  Looking on the bright side, the crisis gave us an opportunity to get to know our neighbors better, and maybe started to make New York feel like home...at least for a while.

But we were thrilled to return to California for Thanksgiving. We had a lot of fun visiting family and friends, though we didn't have time to see everyone.  Hopefully, we will be back soon!

Some highlights of our trip:

Fun on JetBlue:
